MCP client config generator

Spec
2026-07-28
Verified

Choose a client, your operating system and how the server starts. The configuration and the matching command update as you type.

The generator runs in your browser. It sends nothing over the network, stores nothing, and never asks for a key or token. Where a server needs a secret, the output refers to an environment variable or leaves a <YOUR_…> placeholder.

  • Claude Code and Codex: we ran the generated commands with Claude Code 2.1.312 and Codex 0.164.0 on Linux. Both CLIs wrote exactly the configuration the generator shows, and the configured servers connected.
  • Cursor and Cherry Studio: the output follows their documentation and, for Cherry Studio, its source code. We have not run these clients yet.
  • Windows: the cmd /c wrapper for npx, the TOML quoting and the PowerShell quoting follow documented behaviour and community practice. We have not run them on Windows yet.

Every combination above is pinned by a test, so a change in the generator that alters the output fails our build.
